Broadstone Warren is situated in the Ashdown Forest in the North of Sussex, midway between the South Coast and London.
The site which is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) is almost 400 acres of mixed woodland, with a variety of individual areas for camping, and a number of buildings that are used for indoor accommodation, courses or meetings. The site has a vast number of activities.
The site is open to all Scouts, Guides, other youth groups, schools and commercial organisations from all over the UK and abroad and is open all year round. The site is not open to the public.
This website is designed to offer information about the centre, but if you would like to know more please do not hesitate to contact us. We would also encourage you to contact us if you are interested in making a booking.
Over the past few years we have seen the number of DofE groups using the site increase. We believe that this is due to the unique location of the site which is within walking distance of a range of other campsites. Outlined below is some information for making planning DofE practices and expeditions easier. We can also provide a programme for the Gold Residential.
As a site we provide camping space for any numbers in the group. We often have groups of between four and one hundred and fifty DofE participants staying on site for training or the expedition. Some stay for one night and others for longer. We can also provide training rooms in the form of our Hall, Field Study Centre or Meeting Room that are ideal for indoor training. More information about camping and indoor accommodation can be found on this website.
